Eye examination
A comprehensive eye and vision health examination.
Some eye diseases can develop over a long period without noticeable symptoms. Vision may seem fine even when changes have already occurred in the eyes, therefore it is important to assess eye health regularly, not only when symptoms are present.
What happens during an eye examination
During an eye examination, the physician assesses visual function and overall eye health. The scope of the examination is tailored to your age, health status, risk factors, and any previously identified changes.
The examination can help detect glaucoma, retinal diseases, cataracts, and other eye conditions early on. Changes detected early make it possible to determine the next course of action in a timely manner – whether treatment, additional diagnostic tests, or targeted monitoring is needed.
Who needs it, and how often
People at increased risk for eye disease, including those with diabetes, a family history of eye disease, certain systemic conditions, or previously diagnosed eye changes, need to pay special attention to their eye health.
The frequency of checkups varies from person to person. It is determined by the individual risk profile and the results of previous examinations. Our goal is not to perform more examinations, but to select those that truly provide essential information in a given situation.
Consultation cost: 60 € on weekdays, 80 € on Saturdays, 90 € on Sundays, 120 € on public holidays.
